It’s Harvest Time in Podgorica
By Aniela Szumilas on 26 August, 2010
As the summer draws to a close, i’m at ease in Montenegro. I’ve had a fair share of ups and downs over the time here; but just as harvest time does in nature, i’m gathering all of what i’ve gone through and bundling it into a big heap of positivity. I’ll definately draw on all of the lessons i’ve gathered here later; maybe even in another time of difficulty, but the really good news is that unlike in the harvest, my heaping of positivity doesn’t come just once a year.

Life long memories
By Erik Irestål on 10 August, 2010
India never stops to amaze me. During the last few weeks I had the opportunity to explore Kerala, the southwest most state of India, start working with a new group of people at work and celebrate my birthday Indian style. All memories for life.

Standstill
By Erik Irestål on 5 July, 2010
Going to work this morning the city was almost abandoned. A few cars were out, even fewer motorcycles and I only saw one auto rickshaw. The yellow and black three-wheeled auto rickshaws are usually the most common vehicle in Bangalore, but not today! In all of India there’s a one-day strike.

Same same, but oh, so very different
By Kristian Thun on 23 June, 2010
I spend my days here in Thailand working on a laptop almost identical to the one I had back in Norway. My desk is quite similar to my old one, and the physical office environment is very much the same as I’m used to. And yet, I feel further away from home here in the office than I do walking the streets of Bangkok.

Living and Learning
By Aniela Szumilas on 15 June, 2010
Coming to Promonte,(now rebranded to Telenor Montenegro) I was weary of taking on the role of project manager. Here was a monumentous task looming ahead of me which meant that I not only had to coordinate myself but I was also responsible for deliveries from a team. I don’t know that I would call myself ready at this half-way point either, but the good news is that I’m learning every day!

Life of an expat – what is really BEST for me?
By Zsófia Navratil on 3 June, 2010
What is the most important thing in your life? What are your priorities? Is your personal development on the first place, your family, friends or probably your hobby? Or is the most important thing really your carrier? And if not, how do you explain that you transitionally gave up everything else for it?

Change is for real
By Erik Irestål on 1 June, 2010
The Telecom industry for sure is a fast moving industry! Today Uninor launched its GSM service in Mumbai, the most populous city of India at 14 million people. In the days to come Uninor will have a footprint of 900 million Indians. Truly amazing. Not only the business itself is fast moving, my tasks have quickly changed from one thing to another. I came to India to work on Postpaid but I’m currently launching MNP, Mobile Number Portability in a month.

Exploring India
By Julijana Damcevska on 20 May, 2010
A part of living and working in India for me includes seeing other parts of the country during my stay here. I have heard of the large diversities across the country such as when it comes to nature, climate, culture, food and people. I have already had the chance to see some of this diversity through my three weekend trips that I have made so far -to Bangalore, Goa and Jaipur.

A Colourful Place it is…
By Julijana Damcevska on 7 May, 2010
Arriving in New Delhi four weeks back has so far been a very colourful experience packed with an enormous amount of impressions; some that takes the air out of you and others that work as energy injections. It has taken some time to digest it all and I am still in the process of doing that, but at the same time I have started enjoying my stay here.
Its not just about the Job…
By Aniela Szumilas on 7 May, 2010
Works is a place where one ends up spending a fair share of time, so it’s important that you like what you do and that you enjoy the people that you work with. My mentor once told me to try and pick jobs where I could pick my boss. He says it’s better to have a great working relationship with your boss and colleagues as they are often more meaningful to job satisfaction than the actual work you do. I think there is a lot of truth to that.

By Aniela Szumilas on 5 May, 2010
The reflections keep coming, and as I’m settling nicely into my second module at Promonte, the time has come to officially wrap up my first module. The things I’ve learned go far beyond the subject area I’ve worked in, and its hitting home that the trainee programme does a lot more than just show you different departments, divisions and job roles.

How would our world look like without mobile phones?
By Dorottya Török on 20 April, 2010

Juggling at above 100%
By Lasse Kronback Arildslund on 20 April, 2010
It has been quite a while since I blogged last time. I think I have constantly felt that, if I would write down something, it would be completely out-dated when it was published after just a couple of days… This is because my situation has been ever-changing, since I have had to shift attention constantly, from one area to another, tasks would unexpectedly change priorities, and deadlines would suddenly be surprisingly imminent. At some points I have felt as if I was juggling, but at this very moment I will seize a short-lived opportunity to take a deep breath, look back, and explain how juggling can take place even though there is no circus - or perhaps a medieval market - around!

By Erik Irestål on 1 March, 2010
Looking outside, one might mistakenly think that the Winter Olympics are taking place in Stockholm. It’s below -10 degrees, at least half a meter of snow, and it has been this way since Christmas. Business School versus On the Job Learning
By Aniela Szumilas on 22 January, 2010
Business school is a necessary institution and I have drawn on my knowledge and experiences from it in many situations, but its not everything. Organizational ways of working are also necessary, as policies and procedures enable the easier functioning of large size organizations. How to know if you are good at what you are doing?
By Lasse Kronback Arildslund on 18 November, 2009
It is not a very long time ago I finished university, and the ways of working on projects and assignments in such a forum still seems quite familiar. During my five years in university I felt that I continuously progressed, as I improved in the areas of group work and methodology. I got to know if my performance was good or bad because I knew on which basis I was evaluated. The working processes here in real life are very different, so how do I know if what I deliver is good or bad?

Change & challenge
By Katalin Mester on 24 September, 2009
My real first impression was: “WOW”… when I realised how much professional work, power and resources are invested in this programme by Telenor, I really understood what I had applied for and how lucky I am to be a part of the trainee programme. Such an atmosphere can motivate everyone to improve!

First days - Yay!
By Gabriella Grepe on 24 September, 2009
I thought I’d have somewhat of a slow start with loads of information, introduction to the company, some walking around and being introduced to the colleagues. Couldn’t have been more wrong. It was heads on, 180 km/h from the beginning.

My Charmed Life

A brand new start
By Erik Irestål on 24 September, 2009
The journey has begun and three intense weeks has passed. During the following 18 months in the Global Trainee Programme I’m going to learn Telenor from the inside out, through different disciplines and in different countries. I’m looking forward to a lifetime experience, and from what I can tell so far, it is going to be great.

Welcome to my journey as a Telenor trainee
By Vegar Wikhammer Heir on 23 September, 2009
One week ago I was excited and nervous about the first day as a trainee. It felt like I was standing on the edge of a pool, ready to jump in, not knowing the temperature of the water.

Year Zero, Day One
By Slobodan Papak on 23 September, 2009
The assessment center and first seminar in Oslo are behind us now. 18 months of permanent challenges are in front of us. “Think about your conscious choices. Observe yourself!” - sounds pretty easy. To behave in that way and to stay honest to yourself - not that easy. To make all those observations public… We are on the best way to find it out.

A good first impression is a great part of success
By Zsófia Navratil on 23 September, 2009
No, I’m not going to tell you wise and empty phrases. In fact this sentence is anything but empty. Anybody who is newcomer to an organisation should be aware of the fact, that he/she is being judged based on a few moments’ impressions. We walk around, talk, eat, do our presentations or just sit quietly in the corner, and a lot of people will have opinions about us in no time.
