Thinking of what I could share with you that will be interesting to read and in the same time inspiring for me to enjoy writing, I was on the edge to catch myself in a trap. A trap of missing perfect moment for looking back.

It’s December now. Slow, but ubiquitous coming of “the end of the year” atmosphere, when one part of us is thinking of caught and missed opportunities and the other part is looking ahead into more or less bright future, has made me seek for a more general and comprehensive impression.  After all, this blog will probably be the last one from me in 2009.

I’m sure that if I write about electric signals that are lightening through my cerebral cortex while I’m observing people around me, interacting with them, doing my assignments, stepping out with my ideas, receiving suggestions and approvals, taking responsibilities, making new relationships, building trust, …, in my daily “routine”, would also be interesting to hear. Still, there will be a lot of time for that in my future blogs.

Some flashbacks
Application process for Telenor Global Trainee Programme 2009-2011 started in January 2009. This means that we are in this “amusement park”, or at least in front of its door, for almost a year already. After application submission deadline on 1st of February we stepped into a wood of challenges in shape of online logical reasoning tests and personality questionnaires. I must say - it was a pretty dense wood. Every step of overcoming these obstacles was raising my excitement, expectations and confidence to the higher level. Finally, interview in Telenor Serbia emerged in front of me like a path in the wood. Rays of hope got through the branches and illuminated everything around. I knew that, from that moment on, everything is possible.

Next step on my journey was entering the roller coaster called Assessment Center in Oslo in April. It was one of the most exciting and for my experience most beneficial days in my whole life. Twelve extraordinary young people (during the first day of five) cooperating and competing at the same time. I went home after that thinking less than before about how the whole story will end up. I knew that it is a good sign. And it was.

Among other things, 2009 has brought to me: my first serious trainee programme/job interview, first call from my business phone (with my company’s SIM in it), my first “business” trip abroad, my first conference call with fellow trainees from all around Europe and last but not the least my first curling game. I’m sure I will remember this year for a long, long time and I hope that 2010 will bring even more new challenges and experiences to the only one corner of the universe I can be certain of improving (and that’s my own self)*. All things indicate such scenario.

Wish you nice holidays.

Hi Slobodan,

I happen to stuble upon this website, and read few blogs also. Great going, nice writing!!.

I’m a guy who has a hobby of reading History. I have always had trouble with knowing Yugoslavia’s history, as it happens to have more players like the state, militant groups, and other countries involved. I want to know how it happened and who have taken what position and what happened to them, and also how each nationality feels about the other. I have an outlined idea of what happened there but not a clear picture. I don’t like to read too much text, so advice me of so source to get good, non biased resource about what had happened.
Thanks
Balla
