Back on Board

After a rather calm July in Fornebu and a short vacation in August it is high time to speed up again. My colleagues warned me that July and early August will be rather calm in Telenor and it is hard to get hold on people during this time. It is for sure that not many people “disturbed me”, so I managed to finish quite a lot of tasks offline and took some days off in August to refresh my mind.
Trip to the Balkans
After a short visit at home, I set sail with my friends to Serbia to visit a special trumpet festival in Guca and get lost in the crazy and colorful carnival of musicians, bohemians and people dancing all day long. I attached some pictures of the fest for those who have not experienced this kind of balkan beat atmosphere before. Fun, crazy and explosive
After 3 days of non-stop traaa-praaaa-taaa we were hiking a bit and spending some days in the beautiful Kotor Bay of Montnegro.

Back to the project-team
After vacation I returned to Fornebu and the team I am working with. Right in the first day I learnt another important characteristic of project work. The message what I found in the middle of the mail-jungle in my mailbox said: “the deadline of the first phase of our project was postponed”. Ok. The next deadline is somewhere around November after the end of my assignment here in Fornebu. I feel I would like to stay with my team longer, because the “fun” part of the project will definitely start in the next phase.
After months of research, planning, workshops and brainstorming a pilot will be launched to test our new solution and business model in real time in a real market. Exciting! That can be one of the best parts in New Business type of projects – to see the “machine” start off and keep on running the first time. Then it is possible to fine tune the system, watch its effect on the market and make the solution even better. Unfortunately I will not participate in this phase, but I will definitely follow up the results of our half year work.
Where is the next stop?
The 3rd. module is beginning in October so all of us are working on finding the next placement with help of Group HR. For some of us it is settled, for some of us it is still a surprise where we can continue working from October. One thing is sure: we will have the opportunity to test ourselves in a different function, in different settings to gain even more experience.

Hei István, those are awesome photos! I especially like the top-right corner one - brass in action
Your project sounds very exciting and I would love to hear more about it when I see you. Til then, have a nice summer in Oslo!
