Life in DiGi and Malaysia

It’s always an exciting experience to pack your bags and move to a new country. Malaysia will be the third country I have been living in during the past 5 years. Nevertheless, it’s just as exciting as the first time I moved abroad. My expectations to live in Malaysia were quite high, given the brilliant 10 days I spent here in January together with the whole trainee group.
Being away from family and friend
To live and work in Malaysia is truly a different experience compared to being here on vacation. Once the excitement settles down and life shifts to be all about work I start to realize the consequences from living in a country a world away from home. The huge distance means that it is not doable to go home for a weekend to visit my family and friends. 6 months away from home is a very long time.

Weekend excursions
Work is taking up most of my time, giving little time during the weekdays to explore and get to know KL. Therefore, I try to make the most of my weekends by doing some travelling, going out and by playing golf.
KL is a golfer’s paradise, so I have brought my clubs and I try to play as much as possible. A couple of weekends ago I had the best experience. When I approached the green on the fifth hole this Saturday morning, I saw something I have never seen on a golf course before. On the green, there was a family of five monkeys playing around!! That was when I realized that Malaysia is truly exotic.
I’ll come back with more information on my work and my life in KL. Till next time; jumpa lagi!
