Week Before Christmas

This week has been fairly busy for Dealer Sales. We are in the midst of finalising sales activities to be undertaken for the year 2008 and I am also in the midst of finalising and waiting for reply on whether the recommendation that I put forward to my superiors are viable. There are few other recommendations that are pending for more information from other division. Considering the lack of materials for me to read on the existing strategies implemented I usually have to speak to the person in charge of the specific area to get clarification, and this delays my work at times!
Holiday season chores
Considering that its a holiday season at this moment, most people are on leave and at this very moment some of my colleagues are busy inserting greeting cards for our dealers nationwide. It is a custom in DiGi to send greeting cards to all our dealers in conjuction of major festivals. This is done to build stronger relationship with dealers.
My wish for 2008
.. is to is to learn new, interesting and challenging things and also to visit more of Norway as I’m heading there in April!

Hi Rajib,
I can give you an immediate confirmation that the Trainee program is definitely exciting! I’m happy to receive a comment from you cause I’m constantly wondering how sales are done in other parts of Telenor and now I ‘m wondering what exactly does a front desk sales service entail!
Perhaps you could tell us more about you job in your next visit. In fact I would strongly encourage our “visiting” Telenor collegues to provide us with an insight to his or her job scope in Telenor. In this way we could learn from our experiences.
Please treat this blog as as way for us (Trainees) to get to know our visitors as well!
Regards,
Mala

Hi Mala
It is really good to see your reply in a short time..
Today I would like to delivered me experience about front desk sale..
I am working in a Grameen Phone center, Bangladesh where I have to do sales and after sales service. I think this is the best and easiest way to make a direct communication with our customer. So we have to spent a rush time dealing with various types customer. The key point is that if a sales representative can give a positive mindset to the customer it continuously raises company benefit, which is not possible back office employee. However, front desk sales representative need proper Basic sales skill training and might be generous and cool minded. What is your opinion ?
Hope we will continue share our experience what we have gained from our daily office activities.
Best regards.
Rajib.

Hi again Rajib,
It is really good of you to take time to share with me on your job scope. Well sales is definitely not everyone’s cup of tea! Even though my job scope does not involve on direct sales or servicing dealers I can understand the frustrations that you would go through when you have difficult customers on your hand based on my past experience.
Having said that, the experience I have gained as a sales person has proven to be of tremendous help in my current job scope especially in terms of strategy planning. Even though at that point in time I did not regard it as such!
A sales person is in actuallity functions as an organisations “brand ambassador” communicating to the customer on the organisations core values and vision. So you are right, a back office employee does not have much impact on influencing customer experience.
By the way Rajib, I have already posted comments on how dealers are managed in DiGi in my first blog!
Best Wishes,
Mala
